CFBA: The Nurse's Secret Suitor aby Cheryl Wyatt

Song Stuck on the Brain:  Do You Wanna Dance? by The Beach Boys

This week, the Christian Fiction Blog Alliance is introducing:

The Nurse's Secret Suitor
Love Inspired (October 1, 2013)
by

Cheryl Wyatt

MY TAKE:

Eagle Point is one of my favorite places in Illinois! :) The Nurse's Secret Suitor is book 3 in the Wings of Refuge series. If you haven't had the fun of reading the first 2 in the series, don't worry, that won't keep you from enjoying the story. BUT... I have to encourage you to get the whole series because they are such great reads. The romance is sweet, the hero isn't just the main man but the many military men and women who serve their country, and faith is a lesson learned and trait encouraged.

This round Caleb Landis is quite the handsome hero, but Kate only sees him as her friends younger brother. She's always had to be the strong leader and that is starting to wear on her. Thank goodness for the masked stranger who has a listening ear, just the right words and... Oh, can't tell you anymore. I can't bear to give it away. :) Take my word for it though, you don't want to miss this one.

Be sure to check out book 1 Doctor's Devotion and book 2 Doctor to the Rescue.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

A Strong-Willed Heart Trauma nurse Kate Dalton can handle any challenge—except love. The combat veteran dreams of settling down, but heartbreak is one risk she won't take. Then a chance encounter opens her heart to a masked stranger…who might not be a stranger after all! Caleb Landis, the army medic behind the disguise, has always admired Kate, even though she only saw him as her best friend's brother. What will it take for Kate to discard her fears and discover the man she's always hoped to unmask? Eagle Point Emergency: Saving lives—and losing their hearts— in a small Illinois town

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Not even Cheryl Wyatt’s closest friends would dream that this sweet, shy intercessor plots mayhem during announcements at church. She is a Registered Nurse turned stay-at-home-mom, wife and writer who loves Jesus with all of her heart.

Joyful chaos rules her home, and she delights in the stealth moments God gives her to write. She stays active in her church and in her laundry room. She is convinced that having been born on a Naval base on Valentines Day destined her to write Inspirational Military Romance.

Cheryl loves to laugh and to make others laugh, so she often plans comedic moments for her defenseless characters in spite of their grumbling. She says it’s payback for when they refuse to obey the plots she’s set out before them.

Prior to publication, six of Cheryl’s manuscripts placed in ten RWA Contests. Two of Cheryl’s stories also placed First in ACFW’s Noble Theme Contest 2005 (Contemporary Romance Category), as well as ACFW‘s Genesis Contest 2006 (Mystery/Suspense/Thriller Category).

She currently writes for Love Inspired. Her Wings of Refuge Series, about a team of USAF Pararescue Jumpers and the ladies who capture their hearts, can be purchased anywhere books are sold.

CFBA: Doctor to the Rescue by Cheryl Wyatt

This week, the Christian Fiction Blog Alliance is introducing:

Doctor To The Rescue
Love Inspired (December 18, 2012)
by

Cheryl Wyatt

MY TAKE:
Cheryl Wyatt is back with another tale from the Eagle Point Trauma Center and it's just as engaging. Previously I reviewed Doctor's Devotion, the first in the series. When I saw Doctor to the Rescue I knew I had to review it too.

Ian and Bri are like the modern day version Beauty and the Beast, who doesn't love a fairy tale come to life? The comparison goes beyond the surface though, and the author has given the character's a past, a reason for their behavior and that makes it much easier to connect with them.

It was a great quick read. Sweet, fun and romantic all grounded by faith. Don't miss it.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

Combat doctor Ian Shupe returns home from overseas with his most important mission: to raise his little girl. But Ian's a single dad, and working at Eagle Point's trauma center means having to find child care. When bighearted, struggling lodge owner Bri Landis offers babysitting in exchange for construction work, Ian accepts. He vows to keep his emotional distance from Bri, yet can't deny that his daughter is blossoming under her tender care. But is he ready to believe that his heart's deepest prayer may finally be answered? If you would like to read the first chapter of Doctor To The Rescue, go HERE.

CFBA: Doctor's Devotion by Cheryl Wyatt

This week, the Christian Fiction Blog Alliance is introducing:

Doctor's Devotion
Love Inspired (June 19, 2012)

MY TAKE:
I would love to have Mitch Wellington as my doctor. :) How he puts up with Lauren is a little of a mystery. I did enjoy the story a great deal, and the author presents the characters dreams and weaknesses in a very real way. Lauren, especially at first, seems very childish in her jealousy and it was a wee bit grating. But she does grow and you love Mitch for seeing past her behavior and recognizing the woman she could be. He offers her a second chance and nearly drags her screaming into accepting it, but when she gets there, it's a beautiful thing. It made me remember that although we don't like to see ourselves as petty and childish, often we behave less admirably than we like. Mitch saw past that, just as Jesus sees past our childishness to encourage us to find our peace in Him.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

A Doctor’s Vow.

When he fled Eagle Point years ago, former air force trauma surgeon Mitch Wellington left only broken dreams behind. Now he’s back with a new dream—opening a trauma center in the rural area and saving lives. He hopes to hire the quick-thinking nurse who impressed him during an emergency. But Lauren Bates lost her faith and doesn’t believe she deserves to help anyone. Mitch knows firsthand what loss feels like. And it’ll take all his devotion to show Lauren that sometimes the best medicine is a combination of faith, community—and love.

Eagle Point Emergency: Saving lives—and losing their hearts—in a small Illinois town.
