MY TAKE:

The final book in the Miracle Girls series was definitely a hit with me. I think I connected with Riley in ways I didn't expect to. It made me remember my own senior year in high school. I was faced with many of the same issues. Everyone knew where they were going but me. I thought I did until my senior year and then I hit a wall of indecision. Nothing sounded right anymore.

Riley's situation certainly wasn't unique, many of us face the same things in our lives whether it was in high school or now. What makes her special is that she reminds us that despite our weaknesses and indecision, we still survive. Friends, family and most importantly, God; are the things that shape our lives. Riley and her friends brought up so many memories, both good and bad. It was a fun story with real heart and soul behind it.

I really don't have a bad thing to say. I did feel that at the end of the novel, there was one little section I would have chosen to say differently. I believe that God never changes. Despite how our world changes, the basics of life- sin, faith, hope, indecision and poor choices - the word of God still holds the answers we seek. Choosing a college or a career can still be addressed by the word of God. The answer to the question "Where should I go to college, or what should be my career choice?" can be found by asking, "How do I seek God's will and How do I learn to hear His answer?" That is where the answere comes from. Learn how to listen and the answers will come. That lesson is plain in all of God's word and those directions are applicable to all situations. The Bible is not outdated or inable to keep up with our modern lives.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

Riley McGee has the whole world open before her. She could get into any college, major in any subject, become whoever she wants to be...But the truth is, Riley has no earthly idea what to do. She's paralyzed by indecision, afraid of the changes she faces, and as graduation day inches closer, it feels more and more like a threat.

Meanwhile, her autistic brother, Michael, is struggling to fit in at Marina Vista and stay on top of his classes. Riley tries to keep an eye out for him, but when Ms. Moore suggests pulling Michael out of school, Riley has to fight for her brother--and against her favorite teacher. And things take another turn when her ex-boyfriend, Tom, arrives, hoping to give their relationship one more try. On top of that, an ambitious new pastor makes her question everything she thought she knew about faith.

April, I love that you have the Captain and Tenile at the beginning! I had that album when I was a little girl! It had two puppy dogs on the cover. What memories!
